NOTE: I was about to return these as soon as I got them due to apparent quality, thinness, roughness, but have changed my mind after 1 wash.
Out of the package, I'd have bet my rent money that these were not flannel.
They seemed more like a cotton/linen blend-feel. They were not thick or warm or soft, like flannel. *** THEN I WASHED THEM ***
They are thinner than past sets i've purchased in the same price range. Yes, the dryer lint needs to be emptied like every 10 minutes after the first wash (at least) - there is a ton of it to catch.
They have fluffed up and softened up quite impressively. They are thin, but not as thin as they seemed when I initially removed them from the package. They have only been washed once and have not been used yet but they did not pill or shred like some reviews noted.... time will tell.
The color is great, a very true beige/khaki/tan/sand color, I don't sense any annoying slight hues of orange pink yellow green or grey in it - it seems like a true member of "the browns" family.
I bought this set in order to use the top sheet as a light blanket, for when my other one is in the wash. This may be a bit too thin, but the color is so good and the texture is quite nice, I look forward to trying.
